Finally I’ve got a Nintendo DS. I’ve ordered one some weeks ago but the delivery just took too long, so I canceled the order and bought it in a store instead. I’ve tried quite a few games already and I’ve discovered there are so many fun games for NDS. Right now I play Retro Game Challenge most of them all. A wicked game master is sending you back in time, to the eighties, and you have to complete certain challenges in different retro games to be sent back to your own time. Here is a trailer of the game:
Yesterday I was feeling to do some pottering and I decided to create drink coasters with the Quake serie logos. I used different colored plastic HAMA beads to create the coasters. Below you can see the result:
To make the coasters I first printed out the Quake logos. Then I used the printed logos as templates when filling in the beads. When finished, I ironed the beads using an oven paper between the iron and the coaster. After a couple minutes the beads had melted together and it was done.
… was the first thought when I woke up this morning and saw this cute outfit on the internet:
Then I realized that even if I had a baby I wouldn’t be able to make an outfit like that. I have been knitting when I was in school, but I wouldn’t say anything look great, not even half decent. If I tried to knit something green it would most likely look like a booger. Anyway, someone is skilled and made this as a baby shower gift to her friend. You can see the full costume and more pictures in this forum thread.
I just found out my Nintendo DS Lite is delayed and I have to wait until next week until I get it. I was suppose to get it some days ago. Well, nothing to do about that…
Also, about the Gigabyte Gaming Girl contest, I have got some questions about when it’s gonna end. I was told it would last until the end of july, but as you can see it’s still up running, I have no idea for how long.
Now I only have about 7 days to wait until I get my Nintendo DS. ;) While waiting I’ve prepared the arrival and ordered some cute soft cases to protect the console when I have it in my purse. I’ve found a site where you can buy gadgets cheap, so I paid only $4,90 (34 SEK) for these two cute cases:
As you can see I took the pics from the DealExtreme website. Just click the images if you want to go to their website for a full description of the object.
I’ve ordered a Nintendo DS Lite with Zelda theme. I can’t wait until I get it.
This autumn I will work for Titan Television and it takes me 40 minutes to get there every day, so I will have lots of time to kill on the subway and I figured a NDS would be the perfect way to get entertained. I’ve also heard there are a lot of fun games for it. When I was in Cologne some weeks ago to visit Liefje and Purri, I tried Liefje’s DS and it was fun (even though I had to play Agent Elite beats on the easiest noob mode). :)
I’m still in the contest Gigabyte Gaming girl, but it will end in some days. So if you haven’t voted yet, help me out by heading to their website and vote for me. You can win prizes if you vote and for explanation how to vote (if you don’t understand the Swedish) you can see my previous post.
The ClanBase 1v1 QuakeLive competition is coming to an end. I’ve manage to make it quite far, but I lost against boerfan in the semifinals in close games that ended 2-1 in maps. I will now play sl4x for the 3rd/4th place.
I’ve been doing pretty alright in the ESL QuakeLive 1v1 EU ladder this month too. I’ve had place 4 as best, but now I’m back to 6th place after losing a game earlier today.
Last weekend me and fox was in Överkalix to visit my family and friends. Överkalix is the town where I grew up and it is in the very north part of Sweden, close to the artic circle.
I’m in the GIGABYTE gaming girl competition and you can vote on me here: http://event.gigabyte.se/gaminggirl/vote.php. Click “RÖSTA” under my picture and fill in your name, email, phone and where you heard about the competition. Make sure to fill in correct information since you can win prizes too. :)
Last two weeks we have had lovely weather in Stockholm… sunny and warm. Last days the temperature has been above 30 degree Celsius and we’ve been going to the beach almost every day. We have also started to use our balcony daily. We decorated it some weeks ago with help from Magnus’ parents. They visited us for almost a week and we had a nice time going to museums, playing mini golf, having picnics and so on. Coffee and water melon on the balcony.
Cold beer and a book on a cozy soft blanket we got from Magnus’ parents.
Magnus’ and his parents playing mini golf.
Me playing mini golf.
Even though it has been really nice weather outside, in the evenings I still have spent some time gaming. I’m playing in ClanBase 1v1 tournament and I managed to advance to the playoffs with 15 other players. Now it’s single elimination brackets and I played the first game yesterday. I faced fabe, a player that I’ve lost to before. This time I managed to win, but it wasn’t by much. We played three maps and it went to overtime on all three maps.
Yesterday I played the last games of my group in CB QuakeLive 1v1 cup. I managed to win all five games and I’ll finish first in my group. You can go to girlz 0f destruction’s website to watch demos and to see the rankings of my group.
I live quite far away from my family, 1000 kilometers. Because of the distance I can’t visit them as often as I sometimes want. My youngest sister Louise graduated from high school last week and it would have been nice to be there for the celebration. At least I get to see some pictures. Here is a picture from her graduation ball:
I stole this pic from Louise’s friend on facebook. I hope she doesn’t hate me too much ;)
Me and Magnus have quite much happening the rest of the summer. In the end of this weekend his parents will come and visit us for five days. First weekend in July we will go to Cologne to visit Liefje and Purri. Third week in July we will go to Överkalix to visit my family and friends. Then in the end of July my parents are visiting us. In the middle of August there is QuakeCon in Dallas. I’m not sure we will go yet, but if I not go there I will go to DreamHack Stockholm that is the same dates.
